The first reporter assigned for the Audience & Data desk, strategic at Folha both editorial and business wise. In Audience Development, my job was to monitor the performance of the paper's content, analyze the results and extract insights to guide the executive board. I had also the role of a “digital evangelist” for the newsroom; I coordinate the implementation of new projects and applications with the IT team; and was responsible for the analysis of the presence, performance and daily actions of Folha on social networks. In the Data field, my role was to propose and write stories, investigations, applications and visualizations based on data. Audience: Adobe Analytics, Chartbeat, IVC, Outbrain, Bit.ly, ComScore, Google Analytics, iTunes Connect, Google Developers Console, among others. Social networks: Facebook Insights and Signal, Social Monitor, SocialFlow, Wayin, CrowdTangle among others. Assigned for the Metro desk (“Cotidiano”), which covers topics such as local administration, transportation, education and crime. The first three years I worked mainly in the online section, where I created special projects and data visualizations, having been a pioneer at Folha with what is conventionally called data-driven journalism. The two main projects of that time was “Radar da violência” (bit.ly/2ckcgfd), an application that points where there is an increase or decrease of crime in Sao Paulo city, and “Raio-X das escolas” (bit.ly/2cVRhee), which provides complete information and performance indicators for more than 70,000 schools in Brazil, public and private.In late 2012 I joined the print edition team and got the transportation beat, writing about traffic and public transport of one of the largest cities in the world. In that period I also wrote stories on differents topics, like education and crime, and joined the coverage of important events, such as trials of major crime cases, the street protests of 2013 and the Fifa World Cup in 2014 (focused on infrastructure).

Austin, Texas Area

Under a partnership between Folha de S.Paulo, University of Texas at Austin and the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, I was the first reporter selected for the “Journalist in Residence” program at the University of Texas at Austin' School of Journalism. During the spring semester of 2015, with a status of visiting scholar, I attended courses, seminars, conferences, labs and hackatons that served as a specialization in data journalism. While enhancing my reporting skills and visualization techniques, I also shared with faculty and students my professional experience and spoke on topics related to Brazil and to the profession.

Folha' Trainee Program is a reference in the Brazilian journalism, having been responsible for the training of more than 700 journalist in its 30+ years of existence. In 2009 I was selected with 11 other young colleagues among ~3,000 candidates for the 47th edition.
