In this role, I supported the maintenance of a plane-mounted sensor by analyzing data aggregated across thousands of flights. I used this data to identify reasons for sensor failures and downtime, prioritize which failures to investigate, and lead the investigation team through the root cause analysis process. These investigations led to solutions that improved our key performance indicators, reducing system downtime and reducing the number of system failures.Data Analysis-Developed Python scripts to ingest, process, analyze, and present data.-Interfaced with Excel, SQL, PowerBI, and other databases/dashboards.-Derived creative solutions where data was lacking. When turn data was needed but unavailable, I used position data and a rolling average to detect plane turns. This new insight allowed detection and mitigation of previously-unknown issues.Insight Communication-Created weekly, monthly, and quarterly charts to track key performance indicators (KPIs), visually justify priorities, and recommend paths forward.-Presented charts and conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.-Tailored presentation detail and complexity to the audience, providing actionable nuance to the data analysis team, keeping it high-level for management, and thoughtfully addressing the concerns of each stakeholder.Project Management-Led a cross-functional team of folks in software, engineering, and testing. We investigated the priorities identified by the data analysis team, finding root causes and creating solutions that reduce system downtime.-Configured and operated a JIRA board to coordinate teams and tasks.-Proactively created guides and templates to improve the investigation process.

While I was at Syserco, I became familiar with connecting a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning devices into a unified ethernet network, programming them to work with each other, and troubleshooting both digital and physical issues as they arose. I designed user interface for navigation and operation of the control system, created alarms for critical system failures, and set up safety mechanisms for life support systems being installed on a new set of cancer research labs.This project was a 1000+ device control system for 12 floors of laboratory and office spaces, each with unique HVAC needs. Based on the sequence of operations, I wrote programming for portions of the system, tested this logic on the live system, and commissioned the result for final approval.

I played two roles during my summer here! For the first half, I estimated potential project cost for large air conditioning/plumbing renovations. Then I managed several projects concurrently, ensuring each one hit vital deadlines. This required creative reallocation of resources as complications arose during the construction phase.

I operated CNC mills and lathes to craft aluminum, steel, and titanium springs that conform to AS9100 aerospace quality standards. This required a mix of programming and optimizing the G-Code necessary to run these parts. In addition, I improved the manufacturing process by meeting with the plant manager weekly.
