As an HSSE Manager with Ib Vogt GmbH since February 2023, I have been responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Health, Safety, Social and Environmental Systems across construction projects in diverse regions, including the Netherlands, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, and South Africa. In this role, I ensure that all HSSE standards and requirements are met throughout the construction pipeline. I am actively involved in the identification of local HSE consultants and applicable HSE standards specific to each country, supporting contract preparation by creating HSE and ESG annexes for subcontractors and suppliers, and facilitating site teams in the implementation of HSE programs. My work encompasses risk assessment, where I coordinate with consultants and contractors to identify potential risks, implement corrective measures, review Safe Work Method Statements, and ensure effective emergency and fire response plans on-site. In collaboration with the ESG department, I help track and provide environmental data—such as waste management, fuel consumption, energy and water usage—to support the company’s sustainability goals, including our Net Zero program. I also play an integral role in compiling sustainability reports. Leveraging Quentic Software, I standardize HSSE reporting for the construction phase, utilizing tools like the Weekly Site Inspection and HSSE Site Observation Forms. Additionally, I am responsible for developing tailored HSE training programs alongside local consultants, ensuring that all personnel are equipped with essential knowledge of site-specific safety practices. I prepare templates, reports, and plans to support HSSE metrics, oversee KPI reporting, and organize site visits and audits for both EPC and O&M phases of photovoltaic energy plants, reinforcing safety and compliance across projects.

As an HSE Manager at INTEC Energy Solutions in the solar power sector, I was responsible for overseeing comprehensive safety management across multiple projects. My duties included developing and implementing HSE plans, conducting thorough risk assessments to manage HSE risks, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among all personnel. I designed and led safety programs to identify and address potential hazards, investigated incidents to prevent recurrence, and participated actively in HSE meetings and training sessions. I managed KPIs and monthly safety statistics, issued and supervised work permits, and ensured periodic HSE measurements were conducted. Additionally, I provided training and coaching to site staff in alignment with internal HSE guidelines, closely monitored subcontractors' HSE performance, and led regular on-site HSE meetings to reinforce a strong safety culture. I contributed directly to more than 20 solar power plant projects, totalling over 2 GW of capacity, in EPC and full EPC projects across European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Denmark, Spain, Romania, and Italy. My role included conducting internal audits of these sites and preparing detailed reports in compliance with HSE legislation. I also played a pivotal role in enhancing communication with clients to ensure that all safety measures aligned with both local legislation, client HSE requirements, and INTEC's internal HSE standards, creating a safer working environment for each project.

In Kampala, I served as the HSE Chief for Pernix Group LLC on the construction of the New Office Building and Support Annex Building for the U.S. Embassy, a federal project overseen by the Overseas Building Operations (OBO). My responsibilities centered on establishing and strengthening a safety-focused culture on-site, appointing competent personnel, preparing emergency action plans, managing work permits, coordinating safety officers and inspectors, and reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses to the client. Daily site activities included ensuring safe work at height, managing scaffold systems, overseeing equipment inspections, supervising rigging and flagging operations, implementing hot work procedures, enforcing fall protection measures, and managing PPE. A critical component of my role was enforcing compliance with EM-385-1-1 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and OSHA Regulations (29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926) throughout the project. Our safety program involved rigorous inspections on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis, covering equipment, electrical systems, tools, fire prevention systems, fall protection gear, slings, ladders, scaffolds, and more, all conducted by qualified personnel. My role involved actively establishing and enhancing a strong safety culture on-site, appointing competent personnel, preparing emergency action plans, organizing the site safety induction and trainings, preparing the Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) of the processes, managing work permits, controlling the checklists of equipment, coordinating safety officers and inspectors for site activities, and reporting accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to the client.

I served as a Project Safety Engineer for approximately two years on the New U.S. Embassy construction project in The Hague, where I implemented EM-385, OSHA, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations. My responsibilities included training all employees, overseeing site safety, and developing and managing systems for fall protection, scaffold tagging, lockout-tagout, and confined spaces. Additionally, I was responsible for reviewing daily checklists, maintaining equipment control lists, and monitoring daily briefings to ensure safety compliance across all site activities.

BS Architecture and Construction Company operates in the construction sector, where I worked as a HSE Engineer and Occupational Safety Specialist (Class C). My responsibilities included training employees to identify and mitigate risk factors, supervising workers, preparing and completing control forms, and conducting ongoing site and personnel inspections. I was involved in risk assessments, developing emergency action plans, preparing health and safety plans, creating daily site monitoring reports, and managing waste disposal. I oversaw safety compliance at three construction sites on the European side of Istanbul.
