Contracted to carry out an assessment of accessibility to health facilities in Northern Kenya Counties and Refugee Settlements in Northern Uganda. Specifically, I performed, inter alia, the following tasks:Development of data collection and mapping tools using Open Source Software;Piloted the data collection and mapping tools in Isiolo County (Kenya) and thereafter tweaked the tools to ensure validity and reliability of the data to be collected;Invoveld in collecting assessment data of all health facilities in Northern Kenya Counties (Turkana, Marsabit, Wajir and Mandera) and Refugee Settlements in Northern Uganda (Bidi Bidi, Pagirinya, Rhino Camp, Palorinya, Nyumanzi Imvepi, Palabek, Ayilo, Lobule, Maaji, Mungula, Olua, Alere, Mirieyi, Baratuku, Elema);Led a team of four in coding data collected from the health facilities in Northern Kenya Counties and Refugee Settlements in Northern Uganda to create maps of the current state of those facilities; andPrepared interim as well as final reports and presented them to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Food Programme (WFP).
