I have worked across many areas of the Social Care Sector and I am recognised as a very hands on professional. I recognise that relationships are at the core of why I work in Social Care and I believe that everyone we work for should have an opportunity to experience the best life that they can.I value education and understand that learning is a life long process.I am conscious of the need for Social Care Workers to fight for injustice and equality and as part of that process we need to be professional, educated and accountable. I am a member of Social Care Ireland, former member of The Collaborative forum of former residents of Mother and Baby homes,The International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation and former member of The Social Care Workers registration board at CORUI am experienced and qualified in clinical supervision, one to one , couples and group support/facilitation,facilitating training in self injury awareness, coping mechanisms for care teams and Crisis management and stress debriefing. As part of the crosscare training team I provide training in Supervision and Supervisee training, Boundaries training, Refective practice and Self Injury training. I'm experienced in formal staff supervision, support and mentoring and I have strong presentation skills in social care relevant fields, I lecture on the NUI Maynooth course in Leadership and Management specifically looking at reflective practice. I co-ordinate all social care placements for Crosscare Homeless services. I am a servant leadership trained practitioner and one of the 75 Co-authors of a new EBook on the proficiencies for Social Care Workers edited by Dr Denise Lyons and Dr Teresa Brown. In 2022 I received the social care Ireland outstanding achievement in social care award.Specialties: Clinical group and Individual supervision, Adult Homeless Services,Teenagers in crisis, post adoption advocacy, self injury harm reduction, supervision.
