Translation and editing for IoF, a training center responsible for building capacities in the Lebanese civil service. Other than the regular translation of financial reports, economic documents, brochures, specialized studies… my work also includes:• Conceptualization and development of an informative communication language for media releases and publications, effectively aligned with the IoF mission;• Coordination with the IoF team members in order to edit and accurately proofread all publications;• Reviewing, fact checking and copy editing for Arabic spelling and grammar.

My work with this leading publishing house in Lebanon and the MENA region includes translation and editing from French/English into Arabic of international bestselling novels, history and literature books, specialty books, children dictionaries… including but not limited to Oxford Children’s Visual Dictionary, Larousse des Ecoles, Robert Sole’s Sadate, Ilan Pappé’s The Biggest Prison on Earth, Barack Obama’s A Promised Land, Michelle Obama’s Becoming, Harlan Coben’s Tell No One… A task that requires high localization skills, to provide Arabic readers not only with accurate translations, but also with an adapted content to each targeted audience.

As head of the translation department at Vertaal, a company that offers a wide range of translation services in legal, financial, economy and technical fields, mainly for the Gulf region, my duties and responsibilities included conducting research to build legal Arabic glossaries adapted for each Arabic country, training and supervision of translators, assigning projects to translators, proofreading and editing.

English into Arabic translator and proofreader of a very wide array of translation and subtitling materials such as movies, documentaries, TV productions for the most famous world TV channels (Showtime, Discovery, National Geographic…).
