Provides creative leadership, strategic planning, and vision regarding the role the Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education plays in support of the academic and public service mission of the University of Arkansas. Leads innovative efforts to provide an integrated approach to identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and practices directed toward improving marginalized students experiences. Directs and manages programs, education and learning opportunities, and resources to enhance and create an inclusive campus environment supportive of global inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and access through an intersectional approach—centering the needs of students from marginalized student communities.Provide advocacy and coordinate support to promote the success of students from underrepresented groups and diverse populations and develop effective community-wide strategies that support the retention and persistence of historically marginalized identities on campus. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to assess potential barriers and develop strategies to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging for all. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 3 full time staff members, 4 Graduate Assistants, and 10 student workers. Oversee an annual budget of more than $1,000,000 comprising grants, gifts, scholarships, and E & G dollars. Lead the design, development, and execution of educational training, events, dialogues, and presentations to increase awareness of diversity, multiculturalism, social justice, and equity. Provide leadership and mobilization for community response initiatives to critical issues that arise within our world that impact the University of Arkansas community. Establish key metrics and performance measures to facilitate strategic decisions and to measure impact of programs and services on retention, success, graduation, sense of community/belonging, and cultural awareness of students.

Managed the Division of Student Affairs comprehensive, strengths-based initiatives engaging over 2500+ students, faculty and staff members annually in strengths-based education. Oversaw the operations and strategic vision of the Office; including managing the $100,000 budget, fundraising, marketing and communication, and the hiring and supervision of two Graduate Assistants and an undergraduate student worker. Provided oversight for the Strengths Charter Group Committee comprised of colleagues from 10+ departments on campus responsible for the development a division-wide, comprehensive, long-term implementation strategy and strengths expansion.Researched, designed, and facilitated Strengths workshop, trainings, coaching and activities for classes, departments and Registered Student Organizations annually in the range of 75-100 presentations.Coordinated the Division's annual Staff Development Training that includes a Gallup’s Strengths Educators Seminar, Gallup’s Mentoring and Advising Program and the bi-annual Division of Student Affairs Annual Leadership Strengths Conference. Consulted with staff and faculty to integrate Strengths-based approaches and activities into course curriculum, student programming and services, advising and supervision.Developed and sustained relationship with external constituents for the implementation of strengths-based education, with a special emphasis on academic college relationships. Assisted units with developing strategic plans, program design and evaluation, developing learning outcomes and performance measures. Co-Led the development of the Office’s, it’s strategic plan and liaison to developing and fostering divisional and academic partnerships. Oversaw some of the Office’s operations such as managing a budget of $65,000, marketing and communication strategies, supervision of two Graduate Assistants, administration of the Leadership Resource Library, listservs and website. Co-chaired the University’s 12-member Leadership Educator Workgroup which was charged with the development of a campus wide leadership program and initiatives such as the University’s Leadership Certificate Program. Additionally, I led the University’s of participation in the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership project. Collaborated with administrators, faculty, and staff on issues pertaining to student engagement strategies (e.g. co-curricular programs, university policy and diversity). Designed and implemented assessment instruments for analysis of student learning, departmental goals and program effectiveness by leveraging existing software. Provided one-on-one counseling and assistance to a diverse student population.
