Founded an innovative communication strategy firm that works with organizations, companies and individuals in legacy building. Collaborate closely with major stakeholders including government agencies, nonprofit organizations and academic institutions to promote broad understanding and preserve vital, vulnerable historical resources. Conduct symposia, panel discussions, presentations and screenings to promote films and charitable causes while managing complex projects within demanding timelines and budget constraints. • Spearheaded the Avoice Project, an online library of achievements by African-American legislators comprising the official archives of the Congressional Black Caucus including primary sources, citations, research and academic tools; developed eight exhibits with 10,000+ artifacts to date, going live with the project in just one year. ˗ Created short documentary films preserving oral records of key historical figures, leveraging technology to produce enduring content for an ever-expanding online global audience plus 1M+ viewers of CSPAN and PBS. ˗ Orchestrated fundraising events generating $400K+ including the Avoice Heritage Celebration. ˗ Developed innovative marketing strategies to promote the Avoice Project, including selection as a category on the Jeopardy! television program and as a component in the Girl Scout patch on African Americans in Congress. ˗ Launched successful fundraising efforts including funding from Google and major individual donors. • Produced films including a documentary on Congressman Robert Smalls and two videos on the African-American Experience sponsored by the National Parks Service for nationwide promotional use by the NPS and Amtrak.- via DoubleBack Productions• Lead digitization team responsible for preserving the archives of a major sorority at Howard University.• Won a highly-competitive grant to write a script for the Trinidad & Tobago Film Company.
