I formed my first company in 1968, the Uniplex Mobile Disco. I trained as an Operating Theatre Technician, and then entered surgical instrument sales and repair in the early 1970s with the Surgical Service of London. In 1978 I formed Uniplex Hospital Services, following the success of which I built a 24 track recording studio in Northampton. I formed URSA records in 1983 and incorporated Uniplex as a limited company in 1987, a company of which I have been the MD/CEO ever since. All of my skills were honed by the experience of running these organisations, acquiring Westway Medical on the way. After establishing a Senior Management structure, in the early 21st century I started in my career of the management of Rugby Union, first with my then club, Sheffield RUFC and from there I chaired the South Yorkshire Clubs, Yorkshire RFU, the Area 6 Management team and the North of England RFU, reaching a pinnacle when elected as the Yorkshire representative to the England RFU Council. I have since retired from my rugby admin work in 2018 and concentrated on overseeing Uniplex UK Ltd, which had acquired Ragg Tuning Forks in 2012
