About Adrián Agenjo Aguado

Greetings! I am a Spanish lawyer passionate about criminal justice, human rights and international law. My interests encompass white-collar and organized crime, extradition, transnational and extraterritorial procedures, international criminal justice and business and human rights. I have previously gathered experience in national and international litigation, including at the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, major law firms in Spain, and the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia. Furthermore, I have been trained in academic and policy research, assisting several professors of different research groups at Pompeu Fabra University (Criminal Law Department, Public International Law Department, and the Centre for Gender Studies), the Legal Advisory Body for the Government of Catalonia, and the International Centre of Applied Research in Criminal Law (CRIMINT), where I was the coordinator of a collective book on criminal law theory and academic seminars. My investigative and analytical skills have been recognized through the publication of several research submissions in the field of criminal law and human rights and by being awarded the XII Prize for Peace Research of the University Barcelona and the III Olympiad of Philosophy Prize of Spain.I hold an LL.M from the London School of Economics (fully funded by La Caixa Fellowship) and a double degree in Law (LL.B) and Criminology (B.A) at Pompeu Fabra University, of which I graduated top of my class. During my undergraduate studies, I also completed an exchange at University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute (IHEID), obtaining the Certificate in Transnational Law. Moreover, I was a member of the Pro-bono Legal Clinic, where I participated in the litigation of sexual and gender-based violence cases. Additionally, I have been involved in several Moot Courts (including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court, of which I have been twice a participant and twice a coach) and associations, such as the European Law Student’s Association (ELSA) and the United Nations Student Association (UNSA).
