I am a Secondary Multilingual Program Lead for Birdville ISD. My role includes building relationships with high school and middle school teachers, predominantly English Language Arts and Reading and newcomers, throughout our district in order to develop trust and create coaching opportunities that include observations, feedback, planning, and working with PLCs. In addition, I design curriculum, write curriculum based assessments, and participate in vetting resources for our high school newcomer courses. Part of the curriculum writing process includes managing a team of teachers and delegating assignments and deadlines within a provided budget. I also analyze district data and use my findings to create and provide relevant and engaging professional development. During the summer, I also teach secondary summer school courses including English 1 and 2 remediation.
