Currently manage a team of eight Underwriters/Senior Underwriters.I was previously Director of Operations at Connect for Intermediaries. I was part of the Leadership Team and also had responsibility for two of the teams as well as the CRM system.Previous to this I was at Shawbrook Bank with my last role being a Team Leader of eight underwriters assessing investment property lending applications. I had a mandate for residential (including HMOs), commercial and trading business applications.I had undertaken a number of roles at Shawbrook Bank primarily specialising in underwriting both residential and commercial properties. One of my roles was Senior Manager of a Commercial Team of five underwriters who underwrote applications for semi-commercial and commercial properties. During 2018 I also trained a total of 11 new colleagues so that they became competent in undertaking the role and were subsequently awarded their lending mandates.Previously worked for HSBC from August 1989 to July 2015 with my last role being a Commercial Manager looking after a portfolio of 170 business customers assisting with their growth ambitions. This included providing loans to assist with purchasing assets such as commercial property or equipment and also assisting with cash flow such as overdraft or invoice finance facilities. As part of the assessment I reviewed the financial accounts of the businesses including the balance sheet and profitability to assess affordability.Obtained the Diploma in Financial Services Management and also the Certificate for Financial Advisers.
