Initiatives included working across procurement and supply chain to create a plastic-free dot.com offer- Reduced food waste in line with the ‘Step up to the Plate’ pledge, including through co-ordination of an ‘end of store trading day’ food donation trial in partnership with Neighbourly- Completed a review of alternative fuel use, resulting in reduced carbon and fuel costs through introduction of electric delivery vans Safety:- Delivered a 60% reduction in RIDDOR rates (2013 -2020) through pragmatic plans which strengthened the leader led safety culture. Insurance claims reduced accordingly and there were no safety prosecutions in the same period.- Transformed food safety standards and practice through simplification of processes, achieving 100% 5 ‘star’ food hygiene ratings - Became the subject matter expert in Walgreens Boots Alliance, supporting and sharing strategies for safe operations across the globeRisk Management- Chair of the Boots UK, ROI and Opticians Risk Governance Committee, appraising, challenging and mitigating regulatory and operational risks, through engagement of the Boots Executive and Senior Leadership Teams
