- Managing, coaching and developing a high performing cost management team that meets agreed objectives, delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.- Setting the right and ambitious targets for the team members in order to meet company EBIT and order intake goals. - Hiring the right people for this “niche” job and coordinating their on-boarding and integration within the team.- Set annual salary increases and variable performance bonuses for the team, while balancing within the cost center available budget.- Evaluate team performance, carry out performance dialogue, give feedback on performance, establish development paths and improve as much as possible the demotivating factors. - Develop and maintain common goal collaborations with other stakeholders (functional managers) within the company and regularly request team performance feedback. - Taking part in customer project escalations and supporting the team members in solving critical problems. - Taking part in cost breakdown discussions with customers and defend cost positions. - Support purchasing in supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation prices and aim for cost reductions to meet targeted costs. - Working with and understanding the specifics in terms of functions and cost of a wide variety of automotive products and manufacturing technologies (ex. PCB assembly/manufacturing, plastic injection, metal and die casting, etc.)

- Collaboration and creation of cost breakdowns and preparation of cost discussions;- Pursuit of measures to achieve budget in terms of their effectiveness;- Creation and calculation of lowest possible price for new projects taking into account the hurdle rates;- Regular updating of cost estimates / R&D / Investment;- Preparation of make-or-buy analysis;- Implementation of target costing processes;- Support the Project Manager in the identification and verification of an expense for development , tools, and investments in coordination with the departments involved in the project.
