Aboard the Seabourn Sojourn I worked throughout Alaska and the British Columbia area while learning proper procedures of high-end terminology, exceptional service skills and cooperating with a highly diverse staff of various national backgrounds in venues on the ship such as Thomas Keller's The Grill where I learned and performed positions of Second Server. This Academy internship experience exposed me to a niche industry that the typical American citizen doesn't primarily engage in, based off my observation of pre-dominantly international cruise crew that carry different social and professional work standards compared to the American style of Hospitality and work engagement. This exposure taught me how to further communicate with guests and colleagues who may have a much different approach in engagement due to different cultural and social upbringing.
