Design, test, and application of MRI protocols to study brain function, development and degeneration. Specialized in Diffusion Tensor Imaging and application in conjuction with other imaging modalities to investigate the relationship of the diffusion signal to other imaging signals and histological measures of structure and function. Ongoing applications include: -imaging for preoperative neurosurgical planning-biomarkers of neurodegeneration in disease (ie: Parkingson's and vascular disease related deppresion) -brain development in prematurely born babies studied longitudinally throughout their stay in the neonatal ICU and at 1 year follow-up.
