Other tasks involved negotiating the supply contracts and the payment terms, work together with the Chief Accountant in order to provide the required documents and support to open LCs whenever it was required, negotiating maintenance contracts for the company’s computers and network and successfully developed and published the company’s website with the help of the specialized supplier.

For the materials acquired from France and Australia I had established a healthy relationship with one of the freight companies in Abu Dhabi which handled all the Port procedures and paperwork. Feb 2003 - Sep 2007RomaniaI accepted this role due to its challenges as it was mandatory to take the Procurement Department and its activity to the next level. The first task was to successfully develop and implement the ISO 9001 Quality Management System concerning my Department, which I did with the help of my team. Another big step was to liaise with some of the biggest Oil Refineries and LPG producers and distributors in order to ensure that there are no gaps between supply and delivery of LPG to the end-user, which was successful as I helped negotiate and sign one of the most important supply contracts with an Oil Refinery of 10,000 tons of LPG yearly. Other tasks, nonetheless important were purchasing technical instruments and equipment for the proper operation of the LPG Bottling Plant, for example we had to build an auto LPG unloading ramp which involved selecting the supplier, negotiating the terms of the contract and follow through after installing the equipment. From the HR point of view I managed a team of 13 people, helping only with the appraisals and developing the KPI’s system to monitor their performance. Financially I had to elaborate, implement and follow the yearly budget, together with the Finance Department which was also an integral part of the Procurement Procedure as they had to cast their decision financially on each and every purchase. Legally I worked with the Company’s hired Lawyer to review the supply contracts and renegotiate the clauses that didn’t serve our company’s best interests.

Jun 2001 - Feb 2003RomaniaAs part of one of the biggest Romanian Oil Refinery, I was responsible with managing the local procurement, from reviewing and adjusting existing procedures and forms, up to filling out RFQ’s and LPO’s and track them through the company’s ERP Software Mentor. One of the most important part of my job was to ensure that there are no discrepancies between the time of delivery of LPG to the bottling plant and the actual delivery to the end-user. On the development side I have helped starting to develop the ERP software from Oracle, unfortunately I changed jobs before seeing it implemented.
