I have a passion for Engineering and have gained a wide variety of experience from many interesting and diverse machine design projects over the past 15 years. I have been involved in all facets of the design process, including senior and leadership roles in design and project engineering, so understand what is needed to produce good results through design excellence with a focus on reliability and cost-effective, on-time production. Design:Concept, detail design, and analysis of automated and remotely operated systems including subsea excavation equipment, automated mooring machines, and automated production systems. Tools: Solidworks/Inventor, FEA (SW Simulation), Mathcad, Excel.Manufacture:Supporting the manufacturing process through production monitoring, problem solving, engineering change, and management of supplier output using inspection and test plans.Commissioning/Installation:Extensive experience of planning and managing factory testing, installation on site and on client vessels, and acceptance trials, working with cross-functional teams across different cultures, in sometimes challenging locations. This is an intense but rewarding part of any project for me.Project Engineering:Management of commercial and technical aspects of projects, planning and scheduling design work, managing client interaction and supplier relationships, and coordinating the technical direction of the design process with other stakeholders, including controls and electrical teams and management.Leadership:I have managed design teams of up to 5 engineers, providing technical direction, coordinating design reviews and team output, and mentoring less experienced colleagues. I believe in leading by example and with respect. I am also proactive in setting high design standards through adherence to good design practice and company procedures.
