With more than a decade’s worth of experience in creating digital products, I’ve successfully combined my multi-faceted skill set to adapt to the rapid changes in content behaviours. Initially, it was building and managing a team of 30+ contributors and four editors to break into the Australian soccer media landscape through editorial. Achieving 1.2m peak monthly impressions and over 50k+ social followers, engaging in rich, independent soccer content. When CPM rates began to diminish, I pivoted quickly to audio. Rebranding Outside90 (online magazine) to Daily Football Show (DFS), which shot to stardom as Australia’s most downloaded soccer podcast (650k yearly downloads and 130k unique listeners) and was able to successfully sustain itself for four years, despite the troubling commercial reality for the code and lack of market spend from agencies. DFS then spawned a network of sports podcasts and launch of The Horde, including podcasts like The DeeBrief, which has become the undisputed #1 Melbourne Demons voice of the fans in the past five years, garnering a loyal audience of 60k strong Dees hardcores across the podcast and associated social media accounts. Storytelling titles such as The Enforcer, the tales of former New York gangster Anthony Raimondi, No Merger, the failed merger between Melbourne and Hawthorn from 1996 and The Bloods, how Sydney Swans went from a beleaguered Melbourne based club to an admired organisation, are all compelling series with a rich long format.
