In May 2021 I was promoted to Solutions Architect and started getting more involved in the product’s technical design. Among the role’s main responsibilities were reviewing new feature requests and proposing solutions that were in line with the overall system architecture, mentoring more junior team members and promoting good development practices across the teams.I continue to actively participate in the development of more complex features by coding, code reviewing and working alongside the development teams if needed.

In August 2020 I dropped “team” from my title and started working by myself on various assignments handed by the Head of Engineering. Around this time the product started maturing and I became more interested in its architecture.I worked closely with 3 development teams and provided guidance on more complex work items.The technology stack continued to evolve and I am now working with Go as the main programming language.

In March 2019 I took up the Technical Team Lead role of one of the development teams. The team included both back-end and front-end developers and worked in sprints. Around the same time the technology stack changed to include Javascript services that ran on Node.js in the back-end and Web Components & React.js in the front end.

In 2018 I started an exciting new job at 9Spokes, a growing startup developing a performance tracker for small and medium businesses. Here I joined the back-end development team building micro services that powered a web front end. The services were written in Java using Springboot.

In 2014 I was promoted to Senior Developer. The new role came with some new attributions on top of the existing ones. I started being involved in technical solution designs and reviews, work estimation and mentoring.

In 2012 I joined Bravura as a Java programmer where I contributed to the development of their enterprise application for Investment & Insurance Administration. The product comprised of a number of components: a Java EE application to run on one or more application servers; a rich desktop application for back office processing; the application servers and an Oracle database. As part of the development team I was responsible for coding new features or modifying existing behavior according to specifications. Bug fixing was also one of my attributions.I’ve worked mainly on the back office application -- which is Swing based -- but due to the complexity of the product I also did some work in the web layer.

In 2007 I took a job with IBM Romania where I spent the next 5 years. During this time I have been involved in a number of projects, almost all of them enterprise application solutions for clients activating in Retail, Telecom and Finance industries. Here I had the opportunity to work with some of IBM’s great products such as Rational Application Developer (RAD), Websphere Application Server and Lotus Notes. Besides that I also experienced working with teams across different timezones.My attributions included implementing new features following given specifications and fixing defects.

I started working at SIVECO during my last year in college, part time before graduation and full time after. I’ve been part of a team working on a J2EE application developed for the Ministry of Agriculture designed to allow them to more efficiently allocate funds/subsidies to farmers.As the junior member of the team I’ve been mostly working on small tasks, learning about the software development lifecycle.
