I was in charge of the majority of the web projects we undertake. Using my skills I took projects from start to finish to deliver a functionality rich site for the client. I needed to work with other team members as well as the client and externals to get the project finished. I worked heavily with PHP, CSS and JavaScript to customize our chosen CMS, Silvestripe to meet the specific needs of the job. I also then had to take the designs provided and convert them to html and build them into the framework ready to show the client. Along side that I was also involved in all other facets a website being made. From the original wire frames and site tree workshops, to making sure the site is fully optimized for SEO and making the site live. There is not a part of a website's life I have not been involved in. Even it's final stage of it being shut down or upgraded to a new site, I was involved in it all.

Worked as a web developer. I was working within a team to design, create and maintain custom websites, windows applications and web services for clients. During my time here I had to not only manage my projects but also my team and their workload. I not only had to be able to work independently and within my team but also in conjunction with the design and sales teams to streamline the process from kick off to delivery. I ran client meetings and worked up specification documents to work off.My responsibilities included all aspects of building a website which included setting up and maintaining file and database servers and configuring IIS and SSLs for websites to be run off. Writing the code and designing and maintaining the database for the website to work as well as debugging errors in existing sites. Integrating e-commerce and payment gateway solutions into sites as well as laying out the design of the site and formatting the html, styling it and applying front end techniques to make the user's experience smooth and sleek. Configuring A records and MX records as well as domain names for the sites to be pointed to. I was also involved in SEO (search engine optimisation) in order to get sites to rise up the Google rankings as well as setting up Google Analytics to track stats of sites.

Worked in lay-by, on the cash registers and the front door as well as doing stuff on the back dock and on the floor. This involved greeting people and doing security checks on people going in and out of the store. Communicating with people and helping people find things in the store and providing assistance where needed. I also had to process orders and handle money in a professional manor.

I worked on the University of Newcastle’s IT Service Desk. This entailed being the first point of contact for staff and students who had problems with the university IT services. The work included answering calls and helping people solve diverse IT related difficulties, including PC, Mac and server problems, as well as individual software and hardware problems and providing step by step instructions on how to fix them. The work also involved me using the Central Account Management System to set up and maintain user accounts to ensure they were fully functioning. Other duties included being responsible for closing computer labs and ensuring they were clean and safe, as well as helping with system crashes, printer jams and other day to day computing problems.
