Inland Revenue HM Customs and Excise Estate In March 2001, the HMRC signed a £1.5 Billion PFI deal to transfer ownership and management of the majority of their estate (698 buildings) to a private sector consortium of companies referred to as Mapeley STEPS. Mapeley had an urgent requirement to fully understand the extent of their FM liabilities. Conceived and developed an ’Asset Data Capture Tool’ for Mapeley. Avoiding proprietary solutions, this bespoke package provided a logical methodology for rapid asset data capture with an analytical capability for subsequent interrogation, criticality ranking, automated life cycle costing and spend profiling.Roll out pilot version. Lead MEP and CSA data capture teams for twelve landmark buildings. Report on data and refine tool. Train outsourced FM providers and roll out to the entire estate.
