I help scientists publish their work or win that big grant. I do this by showing them their work through the eyes of editors, referees and readers. As publishers back off from adding value to scientific articles post-peer-review, academic authors are increasingly looking elsewhere to improve the quality of their research output. This represents an opportunity for them to reach the right (and more) readers, publish in "higher impact" journals, and broadly, to make smarter decisions about how they publish their work. This is where I come in.I provide a range of editorial services from simple language polishing to advice on long-term publishing strategy. I can also provide advice on the preparation of grant proposals, and have recent experience in helping clients secure EU funding. My own research background is at the interface of chemistry and biology, but since leaving the bench, I have helped many physical chemists and materials scientists too.My clients come from all over the world. I was Deputy Editor of ChemBioChem, a journal of the ChemPubSoc Europe published by Wiley-VCH, directed by Dr. Peter Goelitz, Editor-in-Chief of Angewandte Chemie. My chief duties were selection of content and management of the peer-review process.
