I am focused on delivering Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) projects for Government clients, including Border Control and Investigation, working in a small team of 12. Gemalto is one of the 3 largest companies in the biometric market.My successes include that I have built two interfaces between the Bulgarian AFIS with the Department of Homeland Security and the Schengen Information System (Java) and developed client requested upgrades on some components of the Bulgarian National AFIS (C/C++); a very challenging project completed in a short timescale. I have successfully implemented an AFIS webservice interface for the Ukraine government, with responsibility for ongoing maintenance (Java/DBA). In was in charge of developing new applications, components and functionality for key clients. I analysed, developed and tested the Romanian electronic passport issuance system, working in close collaboration with the National Printing House, Passports General Directorate and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish and deliver on requirements. I also led on various associated projects, such as maintaining and developing the manufacturing management and control software used to produce passport books.In the role, I maintained the management and control software used for passport personalisation, which allows users and managers to control and monitor the production workflow, covering personalisation, QA, enveloping and dispatch, as well as passport chip data group creation. As a student, I was a member of the IT department responsible for the entire national IT infrastructure of one of the largest meat processing companies in Romania.Following performance problems with the software used for sales, I built new software that duplicated the main program; leading to faster order response/processing and a much more satisfied sales team. In addition, I confidently dealt with many administrative challenges in regards to the main database; ensuring on-site availability to unlock issues that impacted the production process and resolved many networking problems.
