I am an experienced HSSE/ emergency response adviser/ manager from an array of high risk arenas, including oil and gas. I am highly skilled in risk management, system, policy & procedure design and implementation, accident investigation, inspection & audit, emergency management and training design and delivery. More recently I have specialised in incident management training (ICS) and emergency preparedness. I am experienced in managing permanent and occasional staff as well as contractors. . I have previously designed and implemented safety management systems for differing organisations and created and emergency response plans. I am also experienced in working with the Health & Safety Executive to achieve improvement. I am currently self employed as a contractor to TotalEnergies, Iraq as their Emergency Management Lead where I have been developing their capability to respond to all levels of incident from Operational response to crisis response. I am particularly experienced in investigations due to my previous career as a police officer where I undertook numerous investigations in all manner of incidents including industrial accidents. I later went on to deliver training to other police officers in investigation technique. I then have taken this in to safety arena with great success allowing me to design investigation procedures as well as lead significant investigations to identify root cause and action plan for improvement and prevention.
