I started work at Primus as a panel installation apprentice. Within the first year I was promoted to Panel Foreman and soon thereafter promoted to Superintendent. My responsibilities as an installation superintendent have included managing field crews, scheduling weekly tasks, placing material orders, and performing safety checks and hosting daily safety discussions.

This 1,000,000 SF cold storage campus features:•34,000 SF of perishable space•283,000 SF of dry 80’ tall high bay ASRS automated storage•Over 100,000 SF of office space•60,000 SF of ancillary buildings •I was responsible for all work associated with the installation crews for the insulated metal panels including daily and weekly scheduling, material and equipment ordering and daily reporting back to the office on production and issues.

This distribution facility is “plant attached,” meaning it is connected to the existing production facility by a -20°F elevated corridor. Product will make its way from the production facility to a 35°F – 40°F pallet delivery space and then down the elevated corridor to the -20° freezer warehouse. The receiving area in the warehouse is equipped with computer controlled stacker cranes that distribute product to its assigned space in the warehouse. The new building features 34 dock doors with vertically storing docks, one with regular dock position and two with compactor dock positions• The project was challenged by poor weather resulting in over 50 man days lost to rain and wind. I worked with our management staff and field supervision to accurately document the impacts to the project as well as provide solutions to minimize the impact. Solutions included working with light towers at off hours when weather had passed, working weekends and holidays, and maximizing production by thoroughly studying the work ahead and anticipating issues.
