My duties included building, implementation and ongoing support of complex publishing and retouch systems using Sun Solaris and Silicon Graphics Irix based Unix systems. Using OPI and Imaging systems in the publishing industry I was also expected to install and maintain the required applications on such systems, I also acted as a Technical Sales Consultant for the Sales team, and advised clients on new implementations, equipment upgrades and purchases, I would be involved in client meetings where advice for the correct approach concerning potential implementations was needed. At this time I also developed Apple Macintosh skills as many subsidiary systems would utilise the strong image manipulation abilities of these systems.

My duties included building, installation and ongoing support of turnkey publishing systems developed around a company written publishing application. The systems would invariably be Novell Netware or Windows NT4.0 based and supplied into publishing departments for many prestigious clients such as Glaxo pharmaceuticals and News International.
