I am a driven, compassionate youth counsellor and aboriginal counsellor with a proven track record of providing counselling and support to young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders including drug education, family and mental health support. A proud Wiradjuri man with a highly developed cultural understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, I am passionate about social justice and the empowerment, safety and participation of vulnerable people in the community. My counselling skills allow me to build rapport, empathy and understanding with clients, enabling me to provide them with the support and guidance they need to make substantial improvement to their wellbeing.My strong stakeholder engagement skills allow me to successfully collaborate with external agencies, government departments, non-government organisations and members of the public across culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to ensure a cohesive approach to counselling and that improvements are made to the provision of services and resources for youth and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. With influential communication and interpersonal skills, I believe I will be able to enhance the delivery and quality of community services.
