Embedded within a USAF Unit, responsible for the Air Battle Management of Coalition Air assets within the Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan Theater of Operations; one of the most complex and dynamic military and political environments in recent history. Additionally as UK Detachment Commander, responsible for all UK deployed personnel at Al Dhafra Air Base.

Deployable Air Operations Centre (DAOC) Air C2 & Airspace Plans, Instructor on NATO Initial Functional JFAC Training (IFJT) course and the NATO JOINT Airspace Control Course. Duties expanding into Strategy Branch and participation in NATO Joint Operational Planning Groups (JOPG); also completed NATO Surface Based Air Defence (SBAD) and Tactical Ballistic.

Worked within the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Capability (Cap C4ISR) area, acting as sponsor for MoD Tactical Data Link and ISTAR Data Link capabilities. Additionally responsible for Remote Viewing Terminals (RVTs) and Asset Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Helicopter Asset Tracking Systems.

RAF Boulmer

I was employed as a Master Controller, exercising Tactical Control of UK Air Defence Assets with the UK portion of the NATO Air Policing Area 9 (in excess of 1 million square miles); I was fully Combat Ready and responsible for a significant proportion of the training task for other Master Controllers, as well as the operational personnel across the whole.

Responsibilities included the management and development of Airspace and Battlespace plans across the Air Assault Brigade; provided 'Air Awareness' both on exercise in the UK and worldwide, as well as operationally in Afghanistan. Additionally commanded a Link 16 situational awareness unit of up to 30 personnel, the Air Manoeuvre Recognised Air Picture.
