We are working alongside EDF within the Design Engineering Team to deliver critical stages of the Design Studies for Hinkley Point C. • Define the strategy (roles, responsibilities, timescales…etc.) for the successful delivery the design of the building (Technical Work Quality Plan). • Set the building specification, based on operational requirements, input and interface data.• Prepare the technical specifications for the consultants and contractors developing the design of the building.• Contribute to the bidders’ technical assessment.• Contribute to the preparation for the surveillance of subcontracted design activities (Surveillance Plan).• Liaise with stakeholders involved in the specification, procurement, design, construction, use, maintenance and decommissioning of the building (Pre-Operations, Construction / Construction Support, Site, Environment, Design Authority, Responsible Designer, Project Controls, Procurement, Planning & External Affairs, etc.).

● Performing testing/commissioning of large complex plant and sub-systems including large volume air flow HVAC systems as well as Waste Water Management systems, Compressed Air, LRAW systems, Sewage systems, Hot and Cold water systems, Fire water systems and all types of mechanical handling systems, all integrated into the main Integrated Control System (ICS).● Setting to work large Building Automation Systems (BAS).● Reviewing and approving field design and technical design changes to documentation and plant.● Developing and evaluating plans and criteria within a discipline or specialty for a variety of project activities.● Interpreting all new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data relating to the specialty of each individual system.● Providing technical advice and counsel on specific assignments and assist in writing and reviewing pre-operational test procedures as well as Site Integration Phase 1 Tests(individual) and Phase 2 System tests.● Providing inputs and participation in special technical educational and training programs.● Performing field consulting services and special projects.● Applying specialized knowledge of start-up methods to the solution of specific problems and providing the resolution of technical questions arising in the area of specialty.● Reviewing and commenting on commissioning planning schedules and attending weekly and monthly commissioning meetings.● Applying advanced start-up engineering techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of related sciences and disciplines.

Managing the projects work packages from initial concept through tendering, contract award and implementation. • Maintained control for all design, technical specifications, engineering and procurement documentation in relation to tender, contract award and implementation within timescales and budget.• Continually ensured adherence to compliance and statutory objectives regarding HVAC and building services designs (MEP), successfully implemented design solutions into the safety case.• Built and developed excellent relationships with the client, suppliers and various other project departments, played a key role within the projects procurement cycle.• Played a pivotal role within project management from initial concept through to final design, this encompassed the tendering process, contract award, work instructions, and final handover documentation.

Managing a £350 million new build project providing leadership and technical management of the MEP and civil works. ● Managed the MEP engineering and civil configuration in relation to design integrity during the full lifecycle of the project with requirements engineering.● Worked with numerous departments, the Client and suppliers, playing a key role in the project procurement package in relation to design.● Identified project objectives, maintaining control of all technical and design risks effectively.● Ensured all decisions and design information were fully managed and recorded throughout the project, enhancing communication channels significantly. ● Successfully promoted and gained buy-in to “Right first time” designs.

Acting as the Engineering Manager of the PMU I was responsible for delivery of the project tasks throughout all disciplines. ● Maintained full managerial control of the engineering department of 6 staff members in relation to 2 complex multi-million Euro projects worth €305 million and €40 million, this involved an interim dry fuel storage facility and liquid waste treatment plant.● Managed a number of additional support and supply contract (Holtec USA, BNG Germany and Moloni Italy) successfully through the design and development stage.

I was responsible for managing the engineering / integration of the new FWPS Process on the nuclear licensed site. I was responsible for integrating the new equipment from cradle to grave to achieving a licence to operate. Collaborating with Project Stakeholders / Nuclear regulators and Operators to provide structured and substantiated safety case approved design to meet the business requirements. I was responsible for the cost control of the design, manufacture and installation reporting directly to the Project manager. I was based at AWE and responsible for managing multi disciplinary engineering resources to provide solutions that meet the need to deliver the 14MeV IVA Machine to the Hydrus PM and Project Sponsor. I was responsible for the delivery of a technical engineered designed 14MeV IVA to be installed and tested as parts and sub assemblies in the USA and as an assembly within the Hydrus Building at AWE. I was responsible for the engineering management and direction for the project delivery of a £200M capital investment project based in the USA. This included Front End Engineering Definition (FEED) and the implementation of a challenging scientific project.
