I have 15 years’ experience in communications and stakeholder relations, currently leading an in-house corporate affairs team following a decade at a strategic communications firm and having started my career as a journalist. This diverse experience, coupled with my post-graduate qualifications in finance, enables me to bring a unique perspective to communications focused on driving commercial outcomes.I approach communications by working to understand a situation and its impacts, identify the relevant stakeholder groups, and assess the opportunities and risks in order to develop and implement clear, well-considered communications strategies and messaging, often in tight time-frames. I have found this approach generates trust towards and an appreciation of the tangible value an effective communications function can provide, resulting in meaningful partnerships with internal stakeholders (e.g. boards and executives) and better cut-through with external stakeholders (e.g. media, government, industry groups).
