The mission, duty and purpose of the KCT is to utilize collective ownership to direct investments on the corridor that preserve culture and affordability while building neighborhood power and wealth in Kensington. The KCT supports sustainable corridor development through thoughtful real estate acquisition, community engagement, broad local ownership, small business lending and technical assistance, and safety and health programming. KCT’s vision is that Kensington Avenue is a safe, healthy, and socioeconomically diverse commercial corridor with accessible opportunities for the existing and future residents of Kensington.

Each year the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy invites highlydistinguished, nationally prominent professionals in areas of public policy, planning and health and healthadministration to join the school in the role of Senior Policy Fellow.

The Non-Resident Fellowship at Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs brings into the orbit of The School, a coterie of experienced, mid-career professionals with track records of impactful public policy engagement statewide with the goals of sharing knowledge, experience, research, analyticacumen, contacts, and/or insight to advance the mission and objectives of SPIA in NJ.

Fundraising - Led a successful capital campaign (2018) to purchase a historic building to serve as the organization’s headquarters. Developed the organization’s capacity sustainably by increasing the operating budget from $200k to $600k in less than two years. Expanded direct service capacity by adding staff; increased from four staff to fifteen in less than two years.Communications - Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, including policy advocacy and emergency response. Provide thought leadership to partners and allies regarding policy impact, frontline reality, and nonprofit leadership.Governance - Directly corresponding with and reporting to the Board of Trustees, Board Committees, and the organization's Advisory Council. Ensure personal and organizational accountability to all stakeholders. Staff Supervision - Responsible for overseeing administration: including staff, interns, and volunteers. Financial Management - Oversee finances, develop annual program and operating budgets, review financial reports and monitor reserves.Program Service Delivery - Serve as the organization’s sole Department of Justice Office of Legal Access Program accredited representative providing legal representation to clients in immigration matters. Also, serve as an IRS VITA Tax Site Advanced Tax Preparer and Site Coordinator.

Project Management - Oversaw and inspected construction to ensure progress in line with contract guidelines, rapidly address problems. Completed over 200 homeowner occupied rehabilitations with life safety improvements. Also, spearheaded the agency's participation in the Housing First initiative.Program Service Delivery - Conducted intake for a home improvement forgivable loan program administered through the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) and conduct second soft mortgage closings with homeowners and NJHMFA.Staff Supervision - Supervised various Federal AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers and interns.Community Outreach - Led marketing and outreach under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Neighborhood Stabilization Program; implemented the marketing plan, documented success measures, and oversaw the marketing budget.Professional Advancement - Began as an intern in March 2011 and was hired as the Community Outreach Coordinator in December 2011, was promoted to Special Projects Coordinator in June 2012, and promoted in June 2015 to work directly under the Executive Director.
