I am currently employed with General Mills working as a Software Engineer in their Digital & Technology Program.I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I was drawn to computer science in high school after taking an introductory programming class. I have always loved problem solving, and in this class I saw how a combination of problem solving, logic, and creativity could be used to transform words into something functional. Computer science is a field that can teach you something new everyday and it is constantly challenging me to find new ways to solve problems. I have loved learning it since day 1 and I am eager to continue in the field.In November of 2021 I was fortunate enough to begin working with a development team at Thomson Reuters as a Software Engineer Intern. In this position I worked as a developer on 2 projects: Legal-Professional-Authority (a legacy system providing data to other TR services) and Person-Authority (the new cloud based version of Legal-Professional-Authority). Working on these 2 projects I learned an abundance of technical and non-technical skills. My primary role on both of these projects was to investigate problems/bugs, find the source of the issue, and make the fixes. This role was interesting because it forced me to learn all aspects of the web services. The bugs I found were sometimes in data ingest, sometimes in API responses, and other times in front end handling of the API response. As a result, I collaborated with many different teams and people within the project to properly take action to fix the issue, whether it be front end, back end, or data related.
