DBNC plays a key role in Deception Bay in community development, community capacity building and family support. DBNC aims to deliver affordable and accessible preventative and early intervention programs to the community and works collaboratively with other key community stakeholders to advocate for social infrastructure to address issues. The Centre responds to individual and community need through multiple services, a range of activities, support, advocacy and information. Key responsibilities: • Responsible for the management and leadership of 6 current programs in the welfare, job preparation and counselling areas of the organisation; management of these programs within the context of an overall developmental framework, in case management/counselling and program enhancement strategies. • Manage, co-ordinate, support and supervise the functions of the families, children’s and counselling services offered at the centre including meeting compliance and monitoring requirements of all programs.• Provide personnel assistance and case work support.• Provide leadership in the development of systems, policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services; create strategic policies and programs that deliver change and create opportunities for those most at risk in the community. • Create adjunct and developmental projects to complement existing programs; manage and evaluate projects and provide strategic advice to varied internal and external stakeholder groups.• Develop and maintain strong relationships and strategic collaborations with other community organisations, members, community groups, business, and state and local government bodies.

As a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Teacher (Flexible delivery – online) my main responsibilities have been to facilitate student learning by presenting theoretical and skill based content, designing and conducting learning activities, assessing student progress and providing feedback on work submitted. Current VET qualifications being taught include modules from the Diploma of Counselling (CHC51708) and the Diploma of Community Services (CHC52008).As a facilitator of student learning, following adult learning principles, my responsibilities have been to:• Encourage collaboration among students using discussion boards and other technologies• Clarify concepts raised in the curriculum materials and to deepen the students’ knowledge and understanding of the topic• Highlight the application of concepts to professional practice

The role of the Volunteer Resource Program Manager is to lead, promote and champion volunteering within Jewish Care (a culturally and linguistically diverse organisation (CALD) and the Jewish community, through the development and implementation of initiatives that maximise the quality of service and utilisation of volunteers and that provide the necessary supports needed to meet the challenges of a CALD community.
