The year I gathered all my savings and took off on a solo adventure, driven by the desire to explore more.During that year I: saw orangutans in the wild (a childhood dream of mine), dived with sharks in the Belizean Blue Hole, got mesmerized with Tokyo's skyline, booked flights less than 24h in advance following the gut feeling it was time to go, slept in a yurt in Kyrgyzstan, discovered what I don’t want to do (slowly figuring out what I do), hiked St. Catherine at night to get to see the sunrise from the peak. Oh. And I discovered the world’s most delicious cheesecakes (hint: they’re Japanese).When I was not on the go (& had a stable wifi signal), I found myself taking the time to dive deeper into academic subjects that piqued my interest. I explored courses such as Neuroscience and User Experience Design through e-learning platforms, and Neuromarketing and Sales through books I found in some international bookstores around the world.

My mission in this role was to improve the overall digital user experience by making the customer's journey through the website simpler and more user-friendly. I loved learning about UX and the digital landscape, having worked on SEO optimization, digital support in the launch of new products, devising new pages and content curation.

During my full-time internship at Kao Corporation's European HQ, I supported the marketing strategy development and execution for John Frieda, Goldwell, Bioré and Jergens within EMEA distributor countries. I explored the beauty industry in international markets and got the chance to learn from a highly-skilled, multi-cultural team. What I most enjoyed about this role is that I worked on tasks that were both creative and analytical (developing digital assets and marketing support materials for different export markets vs. breaking-down sales performance, market and competitive analysis).

We selected volunteers from around the world to work at local partner schools in Barcelona for a 6 weeks period.
