About Adriana Hinson
I am currently enrolled in Indiana Wesleyan's Transition to Teaching Program and am pursuing licensure in elementary education. My student teaching begins February 2017 and concludes May 2017. I am a passionate, driven, and dedicated educator who is committed to helping every student reach their full potential! I believe all children have the ability to learn and consider it my duty help them excel. Through creative lesson planning and differentiation, I am able to meet the varied needs of an increasingly diverse student body. I aim to create a learning environment that is engaging and inspiring; one in which students are motivated to learn and grow. Through the implementation of developmentally appropriate lessons and authentic learning experiences, I am able to set my students up for success and guide them toward learning objectives. My desire is for students to leave my classroom with the academic and social skills necessary to excel in school and beyond. I believe my role as a teacher extends beyond merely imparting knowledge on my students. In addition to their academic development, I am committed to my students' social, emotional, and behavioral development. An inclusive, supportive, and relationship-centered learning environment is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. The skills I acquired in previous positions coupled with the pedagogical knowledge I obtained through my licensure program and the hands-on experience I will gain through student teaching provide me with the foundation necessary for success. My passion for children, enthusiasm for teaching, dedication to growth and improvement, and adaptability to changing circumstances will help me be an effective educator. Teaching is a lifelong learning endeavor, and while I am just beginning my career, I am looking forward to every aspect of the journey!
