Artistic Producer
CurrentNew Group is an award-winning, artist-driven company with a commitment to developing andproducing powerful, contemporary theater, audio plays, film and more. Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Artistic Producer is responsible for facilitating creative management of The New Group’s productions, and acting as a primary point of contact for the creative and production teams. Responsibilities include:-Supporting pre-production planning and hiring of creative personnel, including developing lists of ideal designers and other creative personnel, for all productions.-Liaising with casting director in the casting process, from scheduling of EPAs to casting of replacements and understudies, if required.-Working with General Manager, Production Manager, and creative teams to schedule design meetings at the start of each production’s process.-Collaborating with General Manager and Production Manager throughout the design and bid process with an eye towards both budget and the artistic vision of the playwright and director.-Actively communicating with all internal departments as necessary about developments in the production and act as a liaison between artists and departments.-Facilitating artistic relationships with respect to participation in Marketing and Development events and activities, and assist with coordinating.-Communicating with artistic leadership regarding production needs and issues as they arise during the rehearsal, preview, and performance periods.-Attending production meetings, some rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and preview performances on behalf of the Artistic Department to support the production’s progress.-Editing and approving marketing collateral, including programs and press releases, on behalf of the Artistic Department.-Producing developmental readings.
