Headed up the commercial team of Surveyors.Working alongside the Project Director I had overall responsibility for procurement, value engineering, cost management and cost reporting direct to the MD plus cost/revenue reporting direct to the funding bank

I had responsibility for the management and the delivery of the construction process from award of the contract to completion of the defect free works, including the management of the design process.

I headed a Construction Management team (promoted to position March 2001) based at Granta Park, Science Park Cambridge, for which I had two primary functions. Firstly at pre-contract stage acting as the main point of contact for clients, formulating cost plans, advising on costs and engineering design and pre-contract management of the design team. The second function was managing the financial teams during the contract works.

Developed from Trainee Surveyor to position of Surveying Manager.Spent 3 years in Portugal in the role of Surveying Manager then returned to the UK in 1996 to work for the main board setting up standardised company processes such as computerised CVC system, SubContract order documents (accommodating the Construction Act), Company Standards. I also did training for Surveying teams and carried out financial investigations into problem contracts, to identify the true costs and to provide impartial views of the value entitlements and providing assistance in the preparation of final accounts/claims
