As an InfoSec Engineer at PFG I conduct analysis using logs from many sources including Endpoint Detection and Response, our Web Application Firewall, and Data Loss Prevention solutions. I use the results of my analysis to make common sense modifications to our configurations while keeping in mind both our customer’s privacy and our business continuity. I’m responsible for our IAM and have modernized relevant processes by way of automation. I have also vastly improved our IAM reporting, adding a much-needed lift for both PCI and GLBA compliance audits.

My time in Tier 2 Support at PFG was split between two functions. I provided Tier 2 remote support for Ace Cash Express locations, specifically around their in-house POS system. I was also tasked with assessing their IT Operations and developing a proposal to modernize their support model in keeping with ITIL methodology. I created their onboarding and training program, a first for the Tier 2 Support Team. Additionally, I was given the responsibility of maintaining the Ingenico Estate Manager system as a part of a larger project moving towards PCI compliance.

The Woodlands, Texas, United States

During my time with Matrix, I was a member of the Ace Cash Express project team responsible for deploying and configuring the newest models of Ingenico Pin Pads to approximately 950 locations nationwide. The day-to-day function consisted of working with installers on site, guiding them through the installation of the devices to client specification. I also provided standard troubleshooting and support of the POS and peripherals during the installations. I utilize several in-house tools to stage and deploy patches and updates to their POS system and the Ingenico devices. Early in the project I was involved in developing and optimizing the deployment process, as well as creating documentation and training the other project team members. Additionally, I worked with the vendors responsible for scheduling technicians and configuring the devices, and I coordinated shipping and asset management.

Spring, Texas

While contracted to ExxonMobil Unconventional my initial function was to prepare and support the Geology and Geosciences teams during their relocation from Fort Worth to Spring, TX. The early stages focused on maintaining business continuity and up time as users relocated. Upon arrival at the ExxonMobil Houston Campus, I moved to support Geoscience Blade Server migration. Most recently I was assigned to a project focused on domain migration and early stage UAT. Additionally as part of the domain migration project I created technical documentation and developed processes for manual migration, user profile migration, and application management. The contract completed with ExxonMobil in February of 2020.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

In addition to incident management that comes with the NOC function, I was heavily involved with policy and process development, specifically based on ITIL methodology. I helped develop and improve the Change Management policy to allow for fast paced growth in an Agile Development environment by balancing business requirements and common sense practices. My focus on continual improvement and thorough analysis ensured our daily operation kept customer needs, company goals and our corporate values top of mind.

My role in the NOC at Elevate carries a great focus on incident management, continual service improvement, and proactive solution development. In addition I've become adept at data analysis, product scalability and have an intimate knowledge of ACH processes and their regulatory compliance requirements. As a bridge between the IT organization and the business, I ensure that we not only provide solutions that serve the company but keep customer impact in mind during incidents. Also, my tenure within the NOC has given me the opportunity to develop both on and off-shore team members and develop training processes.

My initial role was simply monitoring and escalating alerts. As the IT environment changed at RadioShack, I took on more responsibility expanding my skill set to include resolving server and network issues. I took on a server refresh project where I decommissioned over 150 servers then deployed physical and VM servers providing a much-needed update. After that project I took over supporting the datacenter hardware while remaining a NOC team member. I became a leader in the NOC, providing training and guidance for new team members and frequently represented the department in project planning and coordination with external departments.
