Ministering to the needs of all members aged 50 years and over (totaling some 1200 people). I plan and execute fun trip, luncheons, and other functions, assemble our work area, and try to keep everyone feeling young, fun, and happy!

In February 2016 Borden kicked off the Sacred Arts Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL, having seen the need for a platform for art and artists at the 4,000 member church. Knowing how important it is for the people of the church to be good stewards of the creativity and artifacts of a church of this age, Borden set up a calendar with an art and artisan fair in the park, a musical performance, and multiple art shows.

As Director of Nursery Ministries, I manage a nursery staff of ten, visit new mothers, send New Baby and Baptism gifts, plan and execute important calendar events (Baby Recognition Service, Parent Volunteers, Nursery Appreciation Luncheon), communicate with families, maintain the baby Sunday School roll, keep the ministry in supplies, and schedule the staff for their work times each month.

As the leader of brand new program Summit Kids Xtreme, Borden writes songs and scripts, sings, and creates characters based on Bible stories. She also writes songs called "Jarodies" (Jesus parodies) to keep the material fresh and fun for the elementary aged children who attend SKX. This high-energy worship experience mixes song, dance, slide shows, Bible characters, and fun life lessons.

Borden was frequently requested to substitute teach during her time in Elmore County Schools, mainly substituting in high school classrooms. From February until fall of 2014, she was asked to work almost every day of the week. Borden exhibited the delicate balance between discipline and fun, to which the students responded well.
