It was my desire to stay in Atlanta that led me to a career in valuations and business appraisals. Following my graduation, I passed up investment banking and financial analyst opportunities that would have taken me back home to the northeast and instead chose to take a position with a young firm doing valuation work. Nearly 20 years later, I am fortunate to still call Atlanta home and pursue what has become my professional calling. My clients range in size from closely-held start-ups to established public companies. They consist of manufacturers, retailers, distributors, professional service providers, sports franchises, contractors, telecommunications providers, real estate managers and developers, and many others in need of valuation assistance for a variety of purposes, including: (1) financial reporting; (2) tax planning and compliance (e.g., estate, gift, income); (3) transaction advisory; and (4) litigation support. No project is “ordinary” but some of my more unusual assignments have dealt with valuations of religious-based educational curriculum, survival claims, celebrity goodwill, sports stadium naming rights, and other intangible assets. Valuation is sometimes more art than science, but I infuse enthusiasm, teamwork, and insight into every engagement to make sure clients receive the most accurate and understandable conclusions. In addition to my passion for performing valuations, I am committed to both learning and teaching about them. I belong to the top credentialing and educational organizations in the field. I also serve in positions of leadership for local and national valuation organizations and regularly speak before audiences at conferences, seminars, industry associations, and other professional service firms.
