Gorgon is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource natural gas project in Australia's history. The Gorgon Project will develop the Greater Gorgon Area gas fields, located about 130 kilometers off the north-west coast of Western Australia. It includes the construction of a 15 million tone per annum (MTPA) Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant on Barrow Island and a domestic gas plant with the capacity to provide 300 terajoules per day to supply gas to Western Australia.I was the Australian Lead Fire Engineer and my scope of works included the design and verification of the fire protection systems, fire and gas detection systems and emergency egress philosophy for the General Utilities Area (GUA), Material Off-loading Facility (MOF), Quarantine Area and the village.

Northern Territory and Queensland special hazards engineer. Consulted on and designed fire protection systems for special hazards including foam deluge, gaseous fire suppression, water mist and water deluge systems. Assisted with CSIRO Activfire approval and listing of Pre-Engineered Foam Spray system (PEFSS).
