During my time here I was part of the senior management team and responsible for the entire finance function of the Franklins International Ltd and its two subsidiaries. I reported to the directors regarding the ongoing performance of the group and liaised with the other senior managers to coordinate the day to day running of the businesses.My main duties included:-• Preparation of the monthly management accounts (individual and consolidated)• Preparation and updating of monthly cash flow and budget• Attending and presenting at the quarterly Board meeting• Managing the accounts team with regards to taxes compliance including VAT, intra-stat, PAYE, Corporation Tax and Stamp Duties.• Management of the accounts team with regards to accounts payable and receivable.• Maintenance of company payroll• Key Performance Indicators and associated analysis and recommendations• Product costing and review.• Stock takes, directional stock testing and stock holding analysis• Company secretarial compliance• Business valuations for the purposes of acquisition• Designing and implementing cost saving strategies• Various grant applications and claims• Capital investment appraisal• Liaising with the Groups auditors for year-end accounts completion• Liaising with the Groups solicitors regarding various legal cases

During my time here I was responsible for a considerable list of clients and all their needs. This role meant I had a great deal of experience across a wide range of relevant professional skill sets. My client base ranged from small sole-traders to Owner Managed Businesses with turnover in excess of £5m. I was the first point of contact for these clients and was able to successfully manage their needs and build strong relationships with them. I also helped to achieve practice growth by bringing a number of new clients in to the practice. My main duties included:-• Preparation of accounts for sole-traders, partnerships, clubs and limited companies in both the UK and Republic of Ireland• Taxes compliance in both the UK and Republic of Ireland including preparation and submission of Income Tax returns, Corporation Tax returns, VAT, EC Sales, PAYE and CIS returns.• Company Secretarial compliance to include submission of abbreviated accounts and annual returns to Companies House as well as company formations and other ad hoc filing requirements.• Various business consulting activities including preparation of business plans, cash-flow and profit & loss projections, sourcing finance, liaising with bank officials, performance analysis and investment appraisals.• Tax planning with regard to the interaction of IHT, IT, CGT and VAT.• Business mentoring for various start-up companies in the technology and retail industries including EIS/SEIS consultancy for a number of SME’s taking on third party investment and company reconfigurations including share-for-share exchanges between UK and Republic of Ireland entities.• Main point of contact for an extensive client base dealing with all aspects of their business.• Debtor management, billing and WIP.• Training junior members of staff and delegating work appropriately• Dealing with both HMRC and Revenue for UK & ROI tax inspections
