I am devoted to developing cost effective, high performance systems for protecting people and property from the damaging effects of earthquakes. From improving an existing building to protect the life safety of the occupants to designing a seismically isolated platform to protect critical equipment, I have a broad range of experience in structural and earthquake engineering. I enjoy collaborating with members of the project team and working to find an optimum solution that meets the needs of all stakeholders.I have over 20 years experience in Structural Engineering with an emphasis on earthquake engineering, performance based design, advanced technologies, nonlinear analysis and risk evaluations. My focus is on the rehabilitation of existing structures for improved seismic performance as well as the analysis and design of critical facilities such as Advanced Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Mission Critical Data Centers and hospitals.I have used advanced technologies such as seismic isolation and energy dissipation to develop cost effective solutions for protecting critical equipment, such as super computers and biotechnology fill-finish lines.In addition to developing structural solutions for buildings I have worked on the evaluation and upgrade of critical non-structural systems required for the operation of a facility. My experience includes Special Seismic Certification of equipment by shake table testing.
