Cabinet of Curiosities is a place where art is examined through multiple lenses: viewer, practitioner, patron, professional. Art is universal and impacts our lives and communities in ways that we are often not even aware of and is where our collective histories intersect. Topics include reviews of art exhibitions, museum visits, interviews, book reviews, and reactions to current events in the local, national and international art and museum communities. Above all else, it is a place to express and share my ardor for the transformational power of art and the sharing of our collective histories.

As the Beach Museum of Art's first Public Programs Coordinator, I designed dynamic encounters with art for diverse audiences. I managed and contributed content to the museum's website, its first blog, and social media platforms, including establishing presences on Twitter and Instagram. I developed and co-managed the Beach Museum's first artist in residence program, Open A.I.R., which supports socially engaged artists.A dedicated GLAMazon, I hosted campus Wikipedia editathons, connected K-State instructors with training on integrating Wikipedia into curricula, and advised students creating digital humanities archives related to the museum's collection. I also coordinated special events for K-State units, departments, and groups that incorporated the museum's collection and featured exhibitions.

I was selected to contribute posts for ArtsFwd.org, a website dedicated to sharing innovative strategies with arts and culture organizations.

Provided support for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art's School & Youth Serving Organizations and Public Programs & Interpretation sections of the Education Department. I successfully scheduled over 15,000 school-aged students for group hands-on art workshops and manage enrollment for nearly 3,000 students participating in studio art classes each year, as well as compiled statistics and evaluations for education programs.As the public face of the Ford Learning Center, I also provided information regarding Museum and Education-related events and programs.Serving on the interdepartmental Web Team, writing for Blog@Nelson-Atkins, drafting the museum's social media policy, and originating the museum's Twitter account satisfied my technological aspirations, while deepening my personal connections with museum audiences.

Each year, AmeriCorps offers 75,000 opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups.Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry. Habitat welcomes all people—regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or any other difference—to build simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter.During my AmeirCorps term of service, I assisted with coordinating over 11,000 build site and office volunteers for the Kaw Valley affiliate. I founded the Helping Hands Homeowner and Landscaping Committees, chaired the Volunteer Committee, organized volunteer appreciation events, secured corporate donations, constructed homes and completed HabitatLearns coursework.
