Development of novel electrode/electrolyte combinations for intermediate temperature SOFC and analysis of degradation mechanisms of electrolysers using redox dopants as spectroscopic probes to track the oxygen activity within the electrolyte.• Solid-state synthesis of inorganic compounds. • Ceramic slurries manufacture of electrode materials.• Structural and compositional characterization of powders and pellets by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Raman Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX). • Thermomechanical characterization of sintered ceramics.• Optical characterization by means of UV-Vis Spectroscopy.• Fuel cell set-up and electrochemical characterization by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Current-Voltage characterization (CV), Chronoamperometry/Chronopotentiometry.• Use of scientific databases and bibliography resources.
