Since graduating from tech elevator I quickly found a job in IT learning the foundation of what a corporate IT department structure should involve. Once I was proficient in everyday IT tasks I was able to start developing for Installed Building Products.Once I got into this role I began to learn the basics of database management using Microsoft SQL server management while also learning intermediate level programming skills using classic asp, asp.NET and of course HTML/CSS. Furthering my career I began to work on a modernization project that focused on rebuilding our current web application using modern code bases such as .NET core 6/EF Core/c# and react. Through this project I was able to learn from scratch what it was like to build a large scale application. I gained experience using state management tools such as redux or RTK query. We also managed state on the form level by implementing formik. We used the primereact babylon template that worked well with our current structure and through this I was able to gain experience with the new scss styling format used for styling large scale projects. On the back end side of things our company decided to go with the clean architecture back end design. I personally thought this structure fit well with our project.
