I'm a director and co-founder of the Osmos Network, a creative agency guiding organisations and communities, small and large, in sustainable change. I have expertise in design which is research based, human-centred, collaborative, service oriented and process driven. I enjoy collaborating on meaningful small and large projects, within multi-disciplinary teams, particularly focused across Europe.I have over two decades of experience in both digital and physical world projects at the intersection of economic development, resource management and place. In the past I've worked across a range of topics including urban sustainability, mobility, agriculture, community participation, eco-systems management, renewable energy production, urban development, manufacturing and material cycles. I've collaborated closely with universities and research agencies, and held positions at TU Delft and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. I've co-authored academic papers, journal articles, book chapters, guides and edited a book on urban manufacturing (Foundries of the Future, 2020).Don't hesitate to say hello - especially if interested in collaboration, mentoring and support or simply to chat about any of the above.

PartnerOsmos Network May 2015 - PresentBrussels Area, Belgium / Europe Wide.OSMOS is an empowerment service for organisations and communities in transition. We help public authorities, civil society organisations, elected officials, businesses and technicians to arrive at a common vision of what a local sustainable economy could look like in their specific socio-economic, geographical and cultural context. We also give advice on the strategies that will be necessary to transition towards a place-based economic system that puts community values and healthy ecosystems at the top of its agenda. -

Project CoordinatorLatitude,Platform For Urban Research And Design Apr 2017 - PresentBrussels Area, BelgiumProject Coordinator for the JPI Urban Europe funded ENSUF project 'Cities of Making', Latitude with BECI, ULB/VUB, UC London, The RSA + TU Delft. The project delves into opportunities for strengthening urban based manufacturing in European cities following years of decline and offshoring. Using a combination of strategic and action research, our ambition is to identify what works in supporting a resilient and innovative industrial base, and to test those solutions in a real-world setting. We will learn from experiences in London, Rotterdam and Brussels – each with a distinct industrial heritage. By the end of the project we will have developed ideas, practices and policies focusing on public authorities (and many other relevant stakeholders) to breathe new life into their manufacturing communities. -

CollaboratorBuur Apr 2012 - Apr 2017LeuvenHow can we tell if urban planning decisions are (more) sustainable? Project themes consist of: mobility, density studies, complex planning sites, communications strategies and so on. More specifically, I assisted in developing a 'Resilience Framework' for the JPB Foundation (http://jpbfoundation.org) in New York, a high profile financial endowment with ShiftN (BE). I co-developed a video for the European Commission on urban mobility with story-tellers Jack in the Box. Over the last few years I have developed an 'urban scale sustainability compass' - an analysis and decision making tool for urban planning and design (www.sustainabilitycompass.eu). -
Various RolesAchacha Fruit Group Jan 2008 - Feb 2017AustraliaThe food industry is a challenging nut to crack, especially from a growers perspective. Achacha is a family run biodynamic plantation growing a tropical fruit (Garcinia humulis - known in Bolivia as the Achaicharu) originating from the Amazon rainforest in Bolivia.
