The parent company of Invictus International Schools, Sing-Ed Global Schoolhouse, intends to establish Fablabs (fabrication laboratory) in each of its 9 schools across the region - with the Fablab in Horizon Hills being the very first one. Our strategy is to incorporate as much digital fabrication exposure into the curriculum itself besides having it as extra curricular which is typical of Fablabs within an education setting.

Experimental education startup to gauge demand for "maker education" incorporating concepts such as experiential learning, DIY to Doing It Together (DIT), basic computer science, physical computing, and hands-on tinkering. Inspired by the fast growing popularity of the Raspberry Pi in 2013-14. Conducted paid workshops to teach the basics of Raspberry Pi where participants explored interactive electronics coded in Python. Head of the working committee that executed Kuala Lumpur's first "Makerfaire"-like event as part of MCMC's KL Converge in 2015 (MyMaker branding). Invited and managed exhibitors comprising mainly of local Malaysian startups/SMEs together with several regional and international makers.Planned and executed the MyMaker pavilion at Kuala Lumpur Engineering and Science Fair (KLESF) 2015 organised by UTAR. Total 30+ exhibitors, 5 were regional (Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam & Japan). Attendees exceeded 5000 over 3 days.The social mission for my organisation is to expose kids who'd otherwise have no chance to experience the maker movement on their own. Throughout 2015, volunteered to help deliver content for MakerEd (a TfM fellow's STEM initiative) in SMK Puchong Batu 14.All activities took a break between Nov 2015 and July 2019 as I took up the full-time role of Makerlab Manager in Asia School of Business.Maker projects executed since July 2019:1. As a result of my maker advocacy and promotion work, I was given the opportunity by Prof. Rajesh Nair to help set up Malaysia's first Fablab under Asia School of Business, a collaboration between MIT Sloan and Bank Negara. Despite my passion for the creative arts, it did not result in a successful career change. Leveraging work experience from my previous career, I mastered the complex tools/software without much difficulty. Started work on a 3-minute short film with a small collective of international aspiring animators under the online mentoring of a professional Hollywood animator. However, the project came to a halt when most of the assembled team started to lose interest.From Sept 2013 - Feb 2014, started to teach elementary English to young students and adults (ages 8 - 30+) at nearby professional English language centres on a part-time basis. Also separately taught basic creative writing to an 11-year old in a private class. This brief period as an educator really impacted me in a profound way and got me started looking into education issues in the country.
