Everything to develop a useable new product for the farmer which will contribute to his farm.

Together with my parents and wife I run a dairy farm with 120 milking cows, corresponding young stock and fattening bull calves.Activities vary from feeding and milking the cows, to booking invoice and doing the administration

After a literature research I designed and created a working prototype. This prototype was an iron frame which was placed at the exit of the milking robot. This frame had automatically controlled gates, triggered by the presence of a cow. Photocells were used to check the position of the cow and control the gates. If the cow was in the correct position, 3D cameras were triggered to start recording. After the recording was finished, the gates were opened so the cow can leave the box. After the cow completely left the system, the gate was properly closed and ready for the next cow. After this recording period, I analyzed those 3D images and created a health indicator for each cow.

Our residents association Hoevestein was responsible for organizing activities for the residents of Hoevestein. During this period I was responsible for the finance, bookkeeping and helping during the activities which were organized by us.

During this period of 8 weeks I was working at the arable-/dairy farm of Weinans Agrar which is located in Kroppenstedt (Germany). The main tasks for me were the care and harvesting of crops; such as grass, alfalfa, corn, potatoes and onions. Transporting these products was also a responsibility of me. This transport was done by tractors and trucks.
